Privacy Notice

Last updated: 8 June 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how we collect and use your personal information when you take part in the School Lotto Fundraiser.

The School Lotto Fundraiser is a fundraising service that helps your chosen school raise money for school resources, activities, wellbeing projects and school improvements.

By signing up to play, you agree that we may use your information to manage your entries, collect payments, organise the draw, contact winners, issue prizes, send school lotto updates and provide support.

1. Who uses your information?

The School Lotto Fundraiser is promoted by the school, or the relevant school fundraising body, under its local council lottery registration.

The online platform and service are provided by:

  • skoolfunder.com [Provider legal name placeholder]
  • Trading as School Lotto Fundraiser
  • [Provider address placeholder]
  • [Provider email placeholder]

For player data collected through the platform, Skoolfunder acts as the data controller for the purposes of operating the online platform, processing entries and payments, supporting the draw process, arranging prize fulfilment, sending service communications and providing support. The school/promoter authorises Skoolfunder to process the information needed to provide these services for the School Lotto Fundraiser.

2. What information do we collect?

We may collect:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • phone number, if provided;
  • postal address, if needed;
  • date of birth or age confirmation;
  • payment and subscription details;
  • your chosen lotto numbers;
  • your draw entries;
  • winner/prize information;
  • support messages or queries;
  • technical information about your use of the platform.

We do not store full card payment details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider.

3. Why do we use your information?

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your School Lotto Fundraiser account;
  • process your subscription payments;
  • enter you into the correct weekly draws;
  • support the draw process and help identify potential winners;
  • contact you if you win;
  • arrange payment or fulfilment of prizes;
  • send your £20 prepaid card Lucky Dip prize and any other similar prizes by email if you win;
  • send draw results and school lotto updates;
  • provide customer support;
  • prevent fraud, misuse or underage participation;
  • comply with legal, accounting and lottery obligations;
  • provide reports to the school/promoter for its council lottery return.

4. School lotto updates

Because this is a school fundraising service, you will receive service-related updates about the School Lotto Fundraiser. You may receive these from the Promoter and or the Provider.

These may include:

  • draw results;
  • winner updates;
  • payment/subscription messages;
  • school fundraising progress;
  • updates on how the lotto is supporting the school;
  • important changes to the lotto or service.

These updates are part of the service and are not optional marketing.

Any separate promotional marketing from the Provider will only be sent where we are allowed to do so.

5. Prize fulfilment and CleverCards

The weekly £20 Lucky Dip prize and other similar prizes are fulfilled as a digital prepaid card by email through CleverCards or another nominated prize fulfilment partner.

If you win a Lucky Dip prize, we may share the information needed to issue your prepaid card, such as your name and email address, with CleverCards or the relevant fulfilment provider.

They will only receive the information needed to fulfil the prize.

6. Information shared with the school

We may share limited information with the school or school fundraising body where needed to operate and promote the School Lotto Fundraiser.

This may include:

  • player and winner names and email addresses;
  • draw results;
  • fundraising totals;
  • player support issues where the school needs to assist;
  • information needed for lottery reporting or council returns.

We will not share unnecessary personal information, payment card details or full payment information.

7. Payment processing and Stripe

Supporter payments for the School Lotto Fundraiser are processed through Stripe, our payment processor. When you subscribe or pay, the information you enter to make the payment (such as your name, email, billing details and card information) is collected and processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's own privacy and payment terms.

The school/promoter has its own connected Stripe account. The school's funds are allocated directly to that connected Stripe account at the point each supporter payment is processed. Skoolfunder does not hold the school's funds separately.

We do not store your full card details. We receive limited payment information from Stripe (such as confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, and a reference to the transaction) so we can manage your subscription, entries and account.

8. How long do we keep your information?

We keep your information only for as long as needed to operate the School Lotto Fundraiser, manage your subscription, deal with prizes, handle support issues and meet legal, accounting and lottery record-keeping requirements.

When your information is no longer needed, it will be deleted or anonymised.

9. Your rights

You have rights over your personal information.

You may ask us to:

  • confirm what information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete information where we no longer need it;
  • restrict how we use your information;
  • provide a copy of your information;
  • object to certain uses of your information.

Some information may need to be kept for legal, accounting, lottery or fraud-prevention reasons.

10. Keeping your information safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe.

Access to player information is limited to people who need it to run, support or manage the School Lotto Fundraiser.
